New Project Announcement – Helping Hand, Whyalla

Major extensions and upgrades underway for Copperhouse Court and Yeltana.

Helping Hand has engaged Kennett to deliver a major capital works upgrade of both the Yeltana and Copperhouse Court residential aged care homes in Whyalla. The project will convert all shared rooms into private rooms with ensuites, add eight new beds and improve the general facilities overall, thereby ensuring high-quality, long-term care options for the local community. Improvements include;

  • Facility Improvements: Upgrades to electrical systems, nurse calls, and security.
  • Infrastructure Expansion: Creation of a new wing at Yeltana and additional rooms at Copperhouse Court, including a new dining area and multi-purpose activity space.
  • External Areas: Development of landscaped, sheltered outdoor areas, including a new courtyard with a BBQ and water feature at Yeltana.
  • Resident Care & Experience: The project will increase total bed numbers, allowing for more local residents to receive care while converting shared rooms into private rooms with ensuites.
  • Phased Approach: The construction is planned in stages to ensure current residents can remain on-site during the upgrades, with no requirement to move out.
  • Local Impact: The project aims to maximise the use of local trades and contractors in Whyalla.
