The Project
The Drive redevelopment for Tennis SA has rejuvenated the historic home of tennis in the state. The Memorial Drive tennis precinct and heritage of Memorial Drive has been retained and provides a world-class, all-weather covered playing platform. The centre court area is now covered with a new free-standing, steel-framed fabric structure and there is a new north stand with associated change rooms and gymnasium, plus a large function space with bars and commercial kitchen area. The works were staged and included Anchor Project (grass/clay/hardcourts), Stage 1 and 2 (roof), Stage 3 grandstand redevelopment and Stage 3a Sunken Show Court. Stage 1 & 2 were fast-tracked in time for the Adelaide International.
