The Project
Kennett was engaged by the Dept of Education and DIT to provide ECI services and subsequent construction of a new regional technical college in Mount Gambier. The building’s super structure uses local and sustainably sourced cross-laminated timber (CLT) & glued laminated timber (GLT) timber technology, as well as local limestone from the SE region. Exposed ceilings and unclad GLT columns are a design feature, showcasing the building’s ‘bones’, allowing students to view reticulated services and connection details of the structure as they learn their trade.
