A Christmas Tradition: Kennett & UnitingSA Christmas Appeal
A Christmas Tradition: Kennett Builders donates $3,000 worth of brand new toys to UnitingSA for their 2021 Christmas appeal
The Christmas holiday season gives us the opportunity to reflect on how fortunate we are to be happy and healthy, and to experience the joy and cheer that comes around this time of the year.
Many in our community are doing it tough for a multitude of reasons, further induced by the devastating and ongoing effects of COVID-19. Some are unlikely to have their basic needs met, let alone the simple joys of Christmas.
That’s why, every year, we get together as an organisation to purchase hundreds of brand new gifts; sporting equipment, beauty products, dolls, lego, board games, books and non-perishables. We donate the gifts to UnitingSA’s Toy Room – giving parents and caregivers the opportunity to take home brand new presents for their children.
“Our Emergency Relief workers were thrilled to see two Kennett utes arrive at the centre – filled to the brim with high-quality toys, sports equipment, games and toiletries.
The gifts will be distributed to 400+ local children and teenagers in need over the coming weeks via our Toy Room in Port Adelaide.”
