Schools visit the Limestone Coast Tech College site in Mt. Gambier

Students welcomed for Industry Immersion Day.

Year 10 students from Millicent High School and Kangaroo Inn Area School recently visited our Limestone Coast Technical College site, currently under construction for the SA government. The visit was part of their Industry Immersion Day, gaining hands-on experience and insight across a range of local industries.

Students took part in one of the following industry streams:

  • Health
  • Education – hosted by TAFE SA and the University of South Australia
  • Trades – supported by Kennett Construction and Barry Maney Ford
  • Agri-Tech – thanks to Mayura Station and Fennell Forestry

Hosted by Tafe SA, the University of SA, Kennett and other businesses, these experiences assisted in their applications into further vocational education pathways available to them in the Limestone Coast region.

The Technical College, due for completion in December 2025, will provide students with a head start in four separate in-demand trades; agri-tech, early childhood & education, health & social support and multi trades such as plumbers, electricians and builders. South Australia’s technical colleges have been instrumental in establishing relationships with industry, creating a pathway for students to undertake their apprenticeships.
