New Project Announcement – Limestone Coast Technical College, Mt Gambier.
With a design inspired by the Mount Gambier Region and its iconic Blue Lake and sinkholes, the technical college will start enrolments in 2026.
Designed by architects, Russell & Yelland, the building’s super structure consists of locally sourced CLT and GLT (cross laminated timber and glue laminated timber) as well local limestone block cladding and will feature exposed ceilings to showcase the building’s ‘bones’ in keeping with it’s function as a technical college.
The college will provide students with a head start to a career in 1 of 4 in-demand industry specialisations:
- Agri-tech (for careers in forestry, agriculture and manufacturing using the latest technology)
- Early Childhood and Education
- Health and Social Support (for careers in aged care and into nursing and allied health)
- Multi-trades (for careers as plumbers, builders, electricians)
Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 will have access to industry training on a part-time basis while staying enrolled in their home school. It will support not only public students from across the Limestone Coast region, but will be open to students from the private school sector, with short stay accommodation for 44 students at a time.
