Winner – SA Climate Leaders Awards 2026

A recent event was held for all finalists in the 2026 SA Climate Leaders Awards, held every two years by the Premier’s Climate Change Council.

Kennett’s BAMB innovation was driven by the recognition that construction contributes 37% of global greenhouse gas emissions. A circular economy solution for the built environment, BAMB identifies, catalogues and stores building materials in both a digital and physical bank so they can be re‑used in future construction. Using BIM software and concept of a “digital twin” to mirror the physical building, building materials such as steel beams, pre-cast concrete and solar panels are catalogued so that they can be identified, re-certified and re-used in a new building at the end of an old building’s life.

The Green Building Council of Australia has recognised Kennett’s BAMB innovation, awarding it both a Market Transformation and a Leadership Challenge certification, with BAMB now integrated into Green Star pathways that reward circularity, contributing 4 Green Star points to an individual project.

The strategy is made available by Kennett not only to our own clients, but to any developer, builder, or government organisation to be able to adopt the model – an industry‑wide leadership legacy for free.
