Project Completion – Uniting on Second

Setting a new standard for affordable housing.

We are thrilled to handover the keys to the 70 affordable social housing apartments at Uniting on Second to UnitingSA.

Built over 2 years on an extremely tight footprint in Bowden, this building is 8 storeys high and features a rooftop community garden with stunning views of the city and beyond to the Adelaide Hills as well as undercroft parking with EV charging and bike stations.

It is the first project in SA to utilise the Kennett Buildings as Material Banks initiative, where all structural steel, precast and solar panels on site are individually labelled with QR code technology and will be able to be recovered, re-certified and re-used at the end of this buildings life. This will lead to a dramatic reduction in greenhouse gas emissions for a future project as well as offer significant cost savings on raw materials, and contributes to the circular economy in the construction industry. The project is targeting a 5 star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.

Beautifully designed by City Collective, all apartments feature a generous balcony with views and set a new standard for amenity in social housing.
