The Project
This project was one of 2 projects delivering affordable and sustainable apartments in the inner north east suburbs of Adelaide. The building consists of 5 storeys with 29 new affordable apartments with undercroft parking. Utilising the Kennett BAMB (Buildings as Material Banks) initiative, the building is targeting a GBCA 5 Star Green Star rating. Prior to contract award, Kennett undertook a significant value management exercise, resulting in a saving of 3% of the construction cost. Challenges included tight timeframes and operating within a large precinct with multiple concurrent construction works and stakeholders.
