The Project
This project was one of 2 projects delivering affordable and sustainable apartments in the inner north east suburbs of Adelaide. The building consists of 8 stories with 71 affordable apartments, an external car park and associated landscaping. Utilising the Kennett BAMB (Buildings as Material Banks) initiative, the building is targeting a GBCA 5 Star Green Star rating. Prior to contract award Kennett undertook a significant value management exercise which saved 4% of the construction cost. Challenges included tight timeframes and operating within a large precinct with multiple concurrent construction works and stakeholders.
