The Project
Australian Grain Technologies (AGT) is Australia’s largest plant breeding company, and the market leader in wheat genetics. Their growth in R&D and grain technology required a state of the art facility to meet their demands and future growth needs. This project is now the most technically advanced building in the agricultural space. The facility comprises 9000m2 of administrative, laboratory and infrastructural components.
What we delivered
- A dough rheology laboratory
- Temperature-controlled robotic seed storage carousel towers
- Cool storage and chemical storage facilities and workshop
- Harvester shedding, greenhouses and a controlled-environment research facility.
- New offices and a landscaped water retention area.
- Construction details included structural steel frame, perforated steel façade, a metallic architectural cladding system which was rolled onsite and BC2 compliant facilities
- Challenges included highly reactive soil conditions, BC2 compliance requirements and construction of the bespoke glasshouse design.
- Delivered within both programme and budget.
